caught red-handed

Meaning:“If some one is caught red-handed,they are caught in the act of doing some thing wrong such as cheating or stealing”.

For Example: I use to cheat in exam until i was caught red-handed by my teacher. I stopped doing it after that.

How can you say you didn’t steal the book? you were caught red-handed walking out of the store after you’d hidden it under your jacket.
